His hierarchy of sheet music is also fantastically organized and useful, depending on where you are in your mastery of the song. He even adds good tips on how to take the songs to the next level. I am completely amazed by this course. Not only did I learn to play the three beautiful Gnossiennes, which took me roughly 4 weeks to master each of them technically, but even better: on the way, this course taught me by example how to conquer any piece of music: by separating hands, figuring out the fingering, dividing the piece into smaller parts, practicing all of this slowly over and over and over again, to put it back together in the end. 

At times I didn’t believe I’d ever be able to play the next section, but Robin explained clearly how to practice all the difficult parts. 

And the method works. I’m still working on adding more expression to some parts, but I play the Gnossiennes so easily now that I can actually listen to myself playing and enjoy the experience.

This is exactly the kind of music i was looking for when i stumbled across this course. I like them because they sound classical yet a bit jazzy, which i think would make great background music without attracting attention. I think they are great pieces to learn for a beginner because they are fairly easy to play for the complexity of sound (big bang for the buck!). 

I took Robin's 'Piano for All' course too which was great so i was immediately sold on this course. Now i can play all three Gnossiennes pretty well.

I am an amator and do not take real music lessons with a teacher. Robin's course helped me not only to learn to play three beautiful pieces but also pointed out many important things which you need to pay attention and this helps me to proceed with my studying as an amator.
Some of Robin's practice helps to be prepeared to perform even when nervous from the beginning to the end with reasonable amount of mistakes.

This is an excellent course. The techniques taught enable you to learn the pieces step by step until you perfect it to whatever standard you wish. For me, my playing of #1 is still a bit mechanical, but I can play it without looking at the music and really enjoy being able to. 

I don't like to sound like the old guy but I'm 68 and have never played piano (or keyboard in my case) before. I hope there will some new pieces by different composers in the future. I would definitely want to do those.

I had heard Satie's Gymnopédies before, but not the Gnossiènes, and didn't really know what to expect. I initially found the musical scores a little overwhelming and intimidating when I first downloaded and looked at them, But Robin has structured this course extremely well, breaking down each of the three pieces into logical sections. I loved learning these pieces in such a manageable, step-by-step way.

I enjoyed this course as much as any course I've taken. It is a good length and very focused--it teaches one thing and teaches it really well. It provides a step-by-step walkthrough for playing Erik Satie's Trois Gnossienes on Piano.

These are beautiful pieces and not too difficult to play, and Robin's method makes learning them really straightforward. I can now play through these pieces consistently, more or less by memory. 

My ability to read sheet music for piano improved significantly, though that is only a secondary emphasis in the course. Highly recommended for an adult learner with a tiny bit of piano who wants to master one piece. 

I'm already moving on to Robin's Bach course and looking forward to it.

This play-by-ear method is a good way to teach piano instead of the old fashioned, boring and difficult method. Divide and conquer, right hand first, then left hand, then play both hands. I am 55, didn’t ever play the piano, however I do know how to read notes and I love classical music. Sati was not new to me. I enrolled to this course 3 weeks ago and so far it’s a pleasure.
At the beginning I thought it is too complicated as a first piece of music, however after practicing 4 time a week for 10-30 minutes i started to see noticeable improvement, like a magic it became easier and easier. Still I have mistakes and need more practice, however the “music” is there.

Firstly, I haven't finished the course yet. But I have learnt how to play Gnossienne No1 (I started playing it fairly reasonably, within 24 hours, and polished my technique over the course of a week) and have now started to play Gnossienne No2. But I think I know enough about this course to comment. I have been studying Piano for All course by the same author. So I already know what to expect. I only have good things to say. It does not matter whether you read music or not, or whether you read music a little bit. You will learn to play these pieces. Even if you don't want to learn to play sheet music. There are enough ways to get you there and find yourself playing these beautiful pieces by Eric Sati.

As an adult piano learner, I've studied playing piano with all kinds of methods for years. Yet I can only play two simple pieces. Following this course though, I learned the Gnossienne No 1 over a weekend(less than 10 hours). It feels great! And I get more interested in music theory now (tried to study the chords and inversions once, but it hadn't make much sense to me) as I can see how the chords work in action. Amazing course.
